A guided bomb struck near public buses at a stop in Kramatorsk, in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, on Thursday, killing civilians and leading authorities to suspend public transport in the area. PBS NewsHour, Breitbart and Deutsche Welle, citing authorities, reported 30 deaths; Al Jazeera reported at least 33 people were killed after two buses were hit.
Oleksandr Honcharenko, head of the city’s military administration, said rescue work was complicated by subsequent small-drone attacks and said Russia was targeting civilians. The strike came amid a broader wave of attacks: Deutsche Welle reported that Ukraine’s president said more than 70 people had been killed in strikes over two days. In Pryluky, in the Chernihiv region, a missile strike on a five-storey residential building killed 22 people, including five children, according to the New York Post and Deutsche Welle.
