Two Latvian men were arrested Thursday after police said they breached a perimeter fence at RAF Molesworth in southeastern England, a base used by the US military and NATO intelligence operations.

Counterterrorism police arrested the UK residents, ages 36 and 32, police said. They are being held on suspicion of trespassing, criminal damage and entering a prohibited place for a purpose considered harmful to the UK. Fox News, citing Reuters, reported that the arrests were made under Section 4 of the National Security Act 2023.

RAF Molesworth is a non-flying facility managed by the US Air Force, according to Deutsche Welle. It houses personnel from US Africa Command and the NATO Intelligence Fusion Center. Police were continuing their investigation.
