Louisiana Attorney General to Investigate Dr. Anthony Fauci Following Senate Hearing

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced on Saturday that her office will investigate Dr. Anthony Fauci. This decision follows Fauci's invocation of his Fifth Amendment right during a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing, where he declined to answer questions from lawmakers. Murrill noted that despite a federal pardon from former President Joe Biden, Fauci could still face prosecution under state law. Murrill stated, "Fauci lied," referencing previous depositions where Fauci claimed not to recall key details of his actions. Louisiana will join Alabama and Florida in investigating whether Fauci committed any offenses that could be pursued in state courts. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier also announced an investigation into Fauci after the Senate hearing. Senator Tommy Tuberville from Alabama commented that Fauci's federal pardon does not protect him from potential state prosecutions.
