This information was provided by a source familiar with the planning, as reported by Fox News Digital.</p><p>Lawmakers are expected to address Trump's trade war with Canada during the Republican Study Committee's weekly lunch, according to two additional sources.</p><p>Recently, Trump accused Ontario of negatively impacting American businesses in a post on Truth Social, stating that Canada wants to be treated like a U.S. state, although it is not one. He claimed, "They’ve been ripping us off for decades, and it’s going to stop." </p><p>In late July, the U.S. imposed a 50% tariff on a range of Canadian goods, which took effect earlier this month. In response, Canada implemented its own tariffs of up to 50% on U.S. imports.</p><p>Additionally, Trump signed an executive order this month to rename Lake Ontario as "Lake America," further escalating tensions with Canada.</p><p>The timing of the meeting between Greer and the Republican Study Committee has not been disclosed, nor is it clear if there will be questions or opposition regarding the trade war. Trump's tariffs have been a contentious issue throughout his second term, with the House passing a bill in February aimed at reversing earlier tariffs on Canada. This bill received support from six Republicans, while only one Democrat, Rep. Jared Golden of Maine, voted against it.</p>
