<p class="wp-block-paragraph">President Donald Trump expressed confidence on Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attack NATO member territory.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“I’ve had good talks with Putin,” Trump said during an Oval Office event. “He’s not going to be attacking a NATO territory.”</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Trump’s comments come as CIA Director John Ratcliffe was in Moscow this week for meetings with Russian intelligence counterparts.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Prior to Ratcliffe’s trip, additional Russian drones entered NATO airspace, this time over Romania and Poland, and were shot down.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There are also concerns that Russia is not taking Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s threat of secondary sanctions on countries doing business with Iran seriously.</p>
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In response to a question on the topic, Trump told reporters that Russia has “behaved quite well” in terms of the Strait of Hormuz amid the war with Iran and the intermittent closure of the waterway, which has become an oil and natural gas supply chain choke point.</p>
