Gabby Williams scored 26 points as the Golden State Valkyries defeated the Atlanta Dream 68-64 on Saturday at Chase Center, taking a 1-0 lead in the WNBA Finals. Golden State overcame a seven-point deficit earlier in the fourth quarter and closed the game with a 7-0 run.

The Dream held a three-point lead with just over three minutes remaining but did not score again, according to Fox News. Williams made six free throws in the final 2:15, while Atlanta scored eight points in the fourth quarter and made no field goals after Jordin Canada’s jumper with 4:23 left. Angel Reese said she had not been aggressive enough with the ball during limited second-half shot attempts and said she would try to improve in the next game.
