President Donald Trump said Thursday that Nidal Hasan’s planned firing-squad execution at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, will not be livestreamed, reversing a Pentagon plan to broadcast it publicly. Hasan remains scheduled to be executed Dec. 3, 2026, according to Fox News.
Hasan was convicted over the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, which Trump said killed 13 people and seriously injured 32 others. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had said the execution would be public, and the Pentagon later announced a livestream. Trump said immediate family members of victims will be allowed to attend in person.
CNBC reported that Hasan, who is paralyzed from the waist down, could seek to delay the execution through a new legal challenge. Survivors told Fox News they supported ending the broadcast, citing concerns it could become a spectacle or terrorist propaganda.
