President Donald Trump is planning to travel to at least 10 states in the final month before the midterm elections, including a return to Alabama, as Republicans seek to retain control of Congress.
The Washington Examiner reported that the itinerary would include nearly every major battleground state except Maine, where Susan Collins is facing Democratic challenger Troy Jackson. It said the planned stops would span swing states and Republican strongholds. The Washington Post described Alabama and other areas where Trump’s movement has strong support as part of his travel.
Separately, three University of South Alabama students were arrested Friday on federal charges involving alleged social-media threats against Trump before an evening rally on the Mobile campus, according to reports cited by the New York Post. The cases were unsealed hours before Trump was scheduled to speak at the Mitchell Center.
