Two men were killed and dozens of people were wounded in a shooting at a homecoming block party in Vienna, Georgia, early Sunday, authorities said.

Dooly County Sheriff Craig Peavy said more than 1,000 people had gathered near Pine Street when gunfire began around 1:25 a.m. The county coroner identified the dead as men ages 20 and 23, according to the New York Post; their names had not been released. The Guardian reported at least 25 people were injured, while the Post reported at least 35 were hurt.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said it would investigate alongside local authorities. The New York Times reported that a motive was not immediately known.
