Manchester City’s appeal against an independent commission’s finding that the club breached Premier League financial rules is expected to be heard by mid-January, according to Independent Football Regulator chief David Kogan, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The reports say the commission found City guilty of financial-rule breaches. Al Jazeera said the ruling involved more than 100 charges and was issued last month. The Daily Mail said the case concerned alleged breaches between 2009 and 2018 and reported that City were found guilty of all alleged serious breaches.
Kogan told Times Radio that the Premier League wanted the matter resolved during the season, according to the Daily Mail. Al Jazeera reported that City could face sanctions unless the club succeeds in its appeal.
