Kristi Noem is no longer the Trump administration’s special envoy to the Shield of the Americas coalition after her designation expired last month, a State Department official said Thursday.

The official told CBS News that Noem remains involved in work on the initiative as a senior adviser to Deputy Secretary Landau. State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott also confirmed the change in an interview with NewsNation, according to The Hill.

The Shield of the Americas includes the United States and several Caribbean and Latin American countries. It was created earlier this year to coordinate on economic issues, anti-cartel enforcement and other matters, CBS News reported.
