Kenan "Ken" Urker, 34, the partner of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, was found dead at his Louisiana home Thursday after deputies conducted a welfare check, according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The office said relatives requested the check. Fox News, citing an incident report, said Anita Blanchard and her husband saw Urker unconscious through a window, and another man entered the home and found him not breathing. The New York Times reported that deputies found him unresponsive. Urker shared a child with Blanchard.

The Guardian reported that authorities described the death as an apparent drug overdose.
