The storm came ashore south of Las Barrancas, about 80 miles north of Cabo San Lazaro, with sustained winds of 110 mph, according to the Associated Press. About 700 people remained in shelters Tuesday, though authorities said they expected residents to return home. Authorities reported no immediate deaths or serious damage, the AP said.
