Five people were killed and 16 wounded in a Houthi missile attack on al-Maashiq Palace in Aden, Yemen, officials said. The palace is the seat of the internationally recognised government, and the prime minister and other ministers were not hurt, Information Minister Moammar al-Eryani told the BBC.
Al-Eryani said five ballistic missiles struck the palace, while verified video showed smoke above the site, the BBC reported. Yemen’s health minister, Qasim Buhaibeh, said those killed or injured included guards and civilian employees. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said the group had targeted “the Saudi enemy's military operations headquarters in Aden.” Saudi Arabia leads a coalition backing the government and providing air support to pro-government forces fighting the Houthis.
