One person died and several others were reported injured Monday after an incident involving the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, Cobb County police said. The park is about 15 miles northwest of Atlanta, according to the Guardian.

Police told Fox News Digital the incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. and did not immediately provide details about what happened. The New York Post, citing witnesses and park officials through local reports, said an unidentified man fell from the ride and that riders were evacuated after the coaster stopped on an incline. Six Flags said it was saddened by the incident and offered condolences to the dead person's family and friends.
