President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he plans to spend 32 days traveling and campaigning before November’s midterm elections, which will determine control of Congress.
Speaking to reporters, Trump dismissed concerns about his popularity and denied that Republican candidates were distancing themselves from his administration. “You love me, and I love them,” he said. Separately, a Quinnipiac University poll reported by The Hill found 51 percent of registered voters favored Democrats controlling the House, compared with 39 percent for Republicans.
The Washington Examiner reported that Sabato’s Crystal Ball shifted 11 House races toward Democrats. PBS NewsHour reported that Republicans were redirecting resources toward defending seats elsewhere as their prospects in Georgia and North Carolina weakened.
