A Louisiana man, Tyronne Brazille, 50, has been accused of killing his wife, Lanessa Bradford, 50, and driving with her body in the passenger seat of his car through multiple states before being arrested in Memphis, Tennessee. Authorities reported that Brazille was pulled over for a traffic violation on Thursday, where officers discovered Bradford's body with a gunshot wound.
According to a friend of Bradford, Shelicka Decker, the couple had been married for years, and Bradford was planning to leave Brazille. Decker stated that Bradford had saved money and developed a plan to escape, intending to leave her belongings behind and reconnect with family out of town.
Investigators allege that Brazille shot Bradford during an argument at Independence Community Park in Baton Rouge before driving through several states with her body. Decker expressed confusion about the situation, questioning Brazille's actions during the drive. She mentioned that Bradford had previously reported threats from Brazille regarding self-harm or harm to her if she attempted to leave him.
Bradford was employed at an elementary school in Baton Rouge, which prompted police to conduct a welfare check after she missed several days of work. Brazille is expected to face a murder charge after his extradition to Louisiana, with a court appearance scheduled for Monday.
