Russia Issues Arrest Warrant for Conor Kennedy

The Basmanny District Court in Moscow has issued an arrest warrant for Conor Kennedy, the son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., accusing him of acting as a 'mercenary' for Ukraine. This accusation aligns with the Kremlin's narrative regarding foreign volunteers in the Ukrainian military. Reports indicate that Conor Kennedy has been placed on an international wanted list. If apprehended in Russia, he could face a prison sentence of seven to ten years, although the charge is largely symbolic as it was made in absentia. The court's decision comes nearly four years after Conor Kennedy expressed his willingness to fight alongside Ukrainian forces during the early months of Russia's full-scale invasion. He had previously shared on social media that he was moved by the situation in Ukraine and described his fellow fighters as 'true freedom fighters.' Conor Kennedy is the third child of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from his marriage to Mary Richardson. In 2016, he faced legal issues related to a bar fight but expressed pride in standing up to bullies.
