The judge noted that if Trump's forthcoming amendments to the lawsuit could affect the need for such disclosures, it was prudent to pause the order until those amendments are resolved. Trump alleges that the BBC's editing of his January 6, 2021, speech misrepresented his actions and harmed his brand and business interests. The BBC contends that Trump's claims of reputational harm are unfounded, citing his subsequent electoral victory in 2024.
