The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man armed with a pistol outside Trump National Golf Club in California on August 5, 2026. The suspect, 38-year-old Jeanine John Taele, was observed by federal agents engaging in suspicious behavior, including taking photographs and videos on the golf course grounds. Local deputies determined that Taele was under investigation for robbery by another police department.
During the detention, deputies found a 16-round magazine with hollow point ammunition in Taele’s pants pocket. A subsequent search of Taele’s vehicle revealed a loaded pistol and another loaded magazine. Taele faces charges of carrying a concealed firearm and possession of prohibited ammunition. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and the U.S. Secret Service are involved in the investigation.
After obtaining a search warrant, FBI agents searched Taele’s home and discovered several firearms, including an illegally modified AR platform rifle, a semi-automatic pistol, and high-capacity magazines, along with body armor and notebooks containing concerning statements. The investigation is ongoing, and the case has been referred to the district attorney for review. Authorities stated that there is currently no credible threat to the community, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and cooperation among law enforcement agencies.
