President Donald Trump’s approval rating has reached new lows according to two recent polls released on July 29 and July 30, 2026. A Quinnipiac University poll indicated that Trump’s approval rating stands at 32%, with 58% of respondents disapproving of his job performance. This rating marks the lowest recorded during his time in office. Similarly, an AP-NORC poll reported a 33% approval rating, a decrease of 4 percentage points from the previous poll, representing the lowest approval since his return to the White House in 2025.
Both polls were conducted from July 23 to July 27, with the Quinnipiac poll surveying 963 respondents and having a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points, while the AP-NORC poll included 1,165 respondents and a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.
Additionally, an Economist/YouGov poll released on July 28 showed a 34% approval rating, the lowest in their tracking since Trump’s return. A CNN/SSRS poll also reported a 34% approval rating, matching his previous low following the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots.
The polls also revealed significant opposition to the ongoing war in Iran, with 60% of respondents in the Quinnipiac poll opposing it, and 74% against sending U.S. ground troops. The AP-NORC poll found that 64% of Americans believe the war has not been worthwhile, including 87% of Democrats, 68% of Independents, and 37% of Republicans.
Polling averages indicate Trump remains in negative territory, with RealClearPolitics reporting a 39.7% approval and 58.1% disapproval as of July 30.
