Police Investigate Shooting of Walmart Employee in Pennsylvania

Police are searching for a suspect following the shooting of a Walmart employee during a dispute between two men at a Pennsylvania store on Friday evening. Officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Walmart located at 50 McDade Blvd. in Darby Township, Delaware County, shortly after 7 p.m. Darby Township Police Chief Michael Sousa stated that the altercation occurred in the self-checkout area, where one man brandished a firearm and fired, striking a female employee in the leg. The employee was taken to a hospital, and her condition has not been updated. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived and remains at large. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the shooter. Chief Sousa indicated that there is no ongoing threat to the public, as officers have cleared the Walmart and surrounding businesses. The investigation is ongoing.
