KXNT-840 AM Radio Station to Cease Operations on September 1

KXNT-840 AM host Alan Stock announced during his show on July 31, 2026, that the station will end its broadcast operations effective September 1. The decision was made after the parent company, Audacy, was unable to find a viable long-term solution for the station's transmitter site. Stock expressed gratitude to listeners and advertisers for their support over the nearly 40-year history of the station. Following the closure, Stock's show will move to KDWN 101.5-FM at the same time slot. KXNT, which began as KVEG in 1986, has been known for its talk radio format, including notable programs like 'The Rush Limbaugh Show.' The station's staff will remain with the company despite the closure.
