Illinois Man Arrested for DUI After Stealing Police Car in Key West

An Illinois man, John Mack, 38, from La Grange, was arrested in Key West, Florida, after allegedly stealing a police patrol car during Memorial Day weekend. According to the Key West Police Department, Mack took the vehicle from an officer who was working off-duty at Dante’s Key West Pool Bar & Restaurant. Surveillance footage shows Mack leaving the bar with two friends before entering the patrol car and driving off, nearly hitting two men. Police later found him outside the Boat House Bar & Grill. Mack reportedly claimed to have consumed three to six beers but failed a field sobriety test. He was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI, burglary, and grand theft. Mack did not possess a valid driver's license at the time of his arrest.
