DNA Testing in Nancy Guthrie Case Yields No Leads

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos reported that DNA testing of hair found in the home of Nancy Guthrie has not led investigators closer to identifying a suspect in her disappearance. Guthrie, the mother of NBC's Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since early February. Nanos stated that the forensic analysis revealed no significant findings. The FBI's Phoenix office confirmed that the hair analysis did not point to any suspects. Nanos noted that obtaining DNA from hair is rare compared to other sources such as bodily fluids. A mixed DNA sample from Guthrie's home is currently being analyzed by multiple labs, including the FBI lab in Quantico, Virginia, to identify potential contributors. Nanos mentioned that the investigation remains ongoing, with no clear number of suspects identified. Surveillance footage captured a masked figure at Guthrie's home shortly before she was reported missing. Savannah Guthrie has publicly appealed for information regarding her mother's whereabouts, urging anyone with knowledge to come forward. Despite the high-profile nature of the case and various ransom notes, authorities have not yet produced significant leads.
