Kevin Hassett Responds to Poll Indicating Economic Discontent Among Americans

Kevin Hassett, the director of the National Economic Council, expressed skepticism regarding a recent CNN poll indicating that 77 percent of Americans view economic conditions as poor. During an appearance on CNN’s The Lead, Hassett stated, "the economy does look amazing to me," citing strong growth and declining inflation. Host Pamela Brown highlighted that 70 percent of respondents disapprove of President Trump's handling of the economy, and 65 percent believe his policies have worsened economic conditions. Hassett dismissed the poll results, stating, "I just don’t believe that poll". The White House did not respond to requests for comment on the matter. Additionally, a Quinnipiac University poll indicated Trump's approval rating at a record low of 32 percent, with an AP-NORC poll showing a slightly higher rating of 33 percent.
