Fetterman characterized Israel as a "miracle" and criticized New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani for his threats to arrest Netanyahu at the United Nations General Assembly. He expressed disappointment with the Democratic Party's increasing criticism of Israel, stating, "As far as I know, I was the only Democrat that was proud to push that trash back, and now here we are. I’m proud to stand with Israel through everything."
Netanyahu praised Fetterman for his support and stated that history would remember his willingness to stand up for Israel. The meeting occurs amid growing controversy surrounding Fetterman among Democrats for his stance on Israel and his criticism of the Democratic Socialists of America, despite his predominantly liberal voting record.
