A spokesperson for the group stated that the situation has become 'absurd' given McConnell's absence from Senate activities. McConnell was admitted to the hospital on June 14 after a fall and developed pneumonia. He later confirmed that he did not suffer serious injuries and is undergoing rehabilitation. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has requested McConnell to address the public regarding his capacity to serve. Concerns about McConnell's health have also been echoed by other political figures, including President Donald Trump and Indiana Rep. Marlin Stutzman.
