Testimony in Lindsay Clancy Trial Focuses on Medication Use

During the ongoing trial of Lindsay Clancy, her ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, testified regarding the psychiatric medications prescribed to her prior to the deaths of their three children in January 2023. Prosecutors presented evidence indicating that while numerous prescriptions were issued, many were not fully utilized. Assistant District Attorney Shanan Buckingham questioned Patrick about the number of medications taken, revealing that he estimated Lindsay was taking three or four at most. Buckingham emphasized the distinction between the total prescriptions over time and the amount prescribed at any one time. Former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani noted that the prosecution's strategy appears to counter the defense's claims regarding Lindsay's mental state, suggesting that she was not overmedicated at the time of the incidents. The defense argues that Lindsay was suffering from psychosis and was not criminally responsible for her actions. Clancy has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including murder and strangulation, and the trial continues as both sides present their cases.
