Berlin Pride Parade Cancelled After Van Incident Injures Several

A van drove into a crowd during Berlin's LGBTQ+ event on Saturday, resulting in one fatality and at least 15 injuries. The incident led police to cancel the celebrations and a concert in the city. Some of the injured individuals are reported to have life-threatening injuries. Emergency services, including firefighters and ambulances, responded to the scene. Police urged attendees to leave the area immediately. The van struck individuals in Tiergarten park, which was adjacent to the parade route, before colliding with a tree. Authorities are currently searching for suspects. Police officer Florian Nath confirmed that an intensive search is underway. The pride event, known as Christopher Street Day, was attended by hundreds of thousands of people and was called off around 10:15 p.m., interrupting a scheduled performance. Before the incident, the parade had been celebrated peacefully with participants enjoying music and floats.
