California man arrested for mother's murder in Laguna Beach

A 36-year-old man, Safford Wolfson, was arrested on Thursday in connection with the murder of his mother, Angela Caprioli, 61, whose body was discovered on Monday in Laguna Beach, California. The Laguna Beach Police Department stated that Wolfson was identified as a person of interest prior to his arrest on suspicion of murder. Officers responded to a home on Dunning Drive shortly after 11 a.m. for a death investigation and found Caprioli deceased. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is ongoing. A neighbor, Dustin Pettit, reported witnessing a heated argument between Wolfson and Caprioli days before the incident, describing the conversation as hostile. Pettit noted that Wolfson had moved into the home approximately six months prior and had a limited interaction with neighbors. Additionally, social media accounts linked to Wolfson indicate that he identifies as transgender.
