Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs' Campaign Spending Analyzed Amid GOP Criticism

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs' reelection campaign reported spending over $7.4 million in the second quarter of 2026, nearly three times the amount raised during the same period. According to campaign finance records, Hobbs began the quarter with approximately $7.18 million in cash, raised about $2.64 million, and ended with around $2.38 million. Much of the expenditure was directed towards communications, television advertising, and campaign firms, raising concerns among critics about the campaign's financial strategy. Tyler Bowyer, a GOP activist, criticized the spending as excessive and indicative of a lack of grassroots support. Hobbs, who narrowly won the governor's office in 2022, is preparing for a competitive reelection campaign against Republican nominee Rep. Andy Biggs. In response to the criticisms, Hobbs' campaign manager emphasized the support received from grassroots donors and outlined plans to engage voters through various channels.
