Judge Limits Media Access to Evidence in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial

A Massachusetts judge has partially granted a request from Patrick Clancy, the father of three children allegedly murdered by their mother, Lindsay Clancy, to restrict certain graphic evidence in the upcoming trial. Plymouth Superior Court Judge William Sullivan ruled that the media and public are prohibited from recording, displaying, reproducing, or distributing Clancy's initial 911 call and autopsy photographs of the children, aged 5, 3, and 8 months. The trial is set to begin with opening statements on Monday. While reporters can describe the evidence presented in court, they cannot broadcast or publish the recordings or images. Lindsay Clancy faces murder charges for the deaths of her children in January 2023, with prosecutors alleging she strangled them before attempting suicide. Her defense attorneys claim she was experiencing severe mental illness and postpartum psychosis at the time.
