Turner made these claims on X following comments made by current Fever player Sophie Cunningham regarding the participation of trans athletes in women's sports. Cunningham expressed her desire to protect young girls in sports from competing against biological males. In response, Turner criticized Cunningham's stance, asserting that the Fever's handling of harassment issues poses a greater threat to the sport than trans athletes. Turner emphasized the need to address sexism, misogyny, homophobia, and racism in sports. The Indiana Fever released a statement affirming their commitment to maintaining a respectful workplace and stated they do not comment on personnel matters involving former employees. It is currently unclear if the WNBA will investigate Turner's allegations.
