Vance Boelter Sentenced to Life for the Murders of Melissa and Mark Hortman

Vance Boelter, who impersonated a police officer and killed former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, received two life sentences followed by 40 years in prison from a federal judge on Thursday. The sentence eliminates the possibility of parole and addresses a crime that had significant political implications in Minnesota. Boelter, 58, pleaded guilty in June to avoid the death penalty, according to U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen. Mine continues forever."
