Two United States service members were killed in Jordan during Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks, according to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). This incident occurred on July 17, and CENTCOM reported that one service member is currently missing in action. Four other service members were treated at hospitals in Jordan and have since been discharged.
CENTCOM stated, "Out of respect for the families, CENTCOM will withhold additional information, including the identities of the fallen warriors, until 24 hours after the next of kin have been notified."
Iran's Supreme Leader warned that the United States would face "unforgettable lessons" if it continued its attacks on Iran, describing a recent U.S.-brokered peace deal as collapsed. The Iranian negotiator Mojtaba Khamenei announced that Tehran was suspending its commitments under the interim agreement signed about a month ago.
