The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has ceased funding for House Democrats who voted to reduce U.S. aid to Israel. As of July 18, 2026, AIPAC removed donation options for over a dozen House Democrats from its online fundraising platform, although these lawmakers remain listed as supporters of Israel.
Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) and 103 Democrats supported an amendment to eliminate $3 billion in U.S. aid to Israel, which ultimately did not pass. An analysis of Federal Election Commission records indicated that the 104 Democrats who voted for the amendment had collectively received approximately $11 million from AIPAC through various contributions. While many of these lawmakers had not accepted AIPAC funds, 48 had solicited support from the organization since the 2022 election cycle.
Notable figures such as Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) supported the amendment despite having previously received AIPAC donations. Pelosi stated that U.S. policy needs to change for the benefit of both Israeli and Palestinian people. Clark emphasized the need to change the current status quo, citing her significant contributions from AIPAC.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) opposed the amendment, claiming it was too broad and could restrict humanitarian aid and other essential operations.
