Unusual Raccoon Spotted in Seattle with Rare Condition

A raccoon with an unusual appearance has been seen in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, leading to various speculations among residents. The animal, affectionately named Jimothy, has a rounded body and long legs due to a rare condition known as short spine syndrome, which affects the normal development of the spine. Kiana Hall first spotted Jimothy on Monday night while walking with her partner. After sharing a video online, it quickly gained over five million views, with many viewers comparing the raccoon to mythical creatures. Wildlife experts, including Marcie Logsdon from Washington State University, believe Jimothy is healthy and may have been born earlier this year. A local resident noted that they had seen Jimothy grow up in their backyard, recalling his clumsy nature as a baby.
