Donald Trump stated on Monday that he is uncertain about Mitch McConnell's health during an interview on Newsmax. McConnell, 84, was hospitalized nearly a month ago after an incident at his home in Washington, D.C. Over the weekend, McConnell shared a photo with his wife and clarified that he did not suffer a heart attack or stroke, but had fallen and was briefly unconscious, along with experiencing a mild case of pneumonia.
When asked about McConnell’s condition, Trump remarked, "I hope he’s going to be fine. I—I don’t know if he’s fine, but I certainly hope he’s going to be fine." Despite McConnell's recent photo, some individuals have questioned its authenticity, with Senator Ron Johnson suggesting that it may be an older image. Johnson expressed his well wishes for McConnell's recovery, stating, "It’s sad to watch people age, no matter who that person is."
McConnell's office has not provided detailed updates about his health, and inquiries regarding the last communication between Trump and McConnell have gone unanswered.
