Miller stated, "Lindsey was of a mold that I don’t think we’re going to see for a very long time," emphasizing Graham's understanding of the impact of rhetoric in politics. Miller expressed his sorrow over Graham's sudden death, which occurred late Saturday evening, and highlighted Graham's role as a significant ally in the Senate. He remarked, "Lindsey was the most effective, consistent advocate for the president’s agenda in the Senate," noting Graham's influence on both domestic and foreign policy. The preliminary cause of Graham's death was reported as aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Following his passing, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster appointed Graham’s sister, Darline Graham Nordone, to complete his term.
