Skydiver dies after collision with another jumper in Washington state

A skydiver died on Sunday following a midair collision with another jumper during a group jump near Colville, Washington, at approximately 5:30 p.m., according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO). The incident involved multiple participants, and staff members observed the victim, identified as Randy Hubbs from Kennewick, as he became unresponsive during descent. The second jumper, Nicole Klein from Colville, sustained injuries requiring medical treatment. Witnesses reported that Hubbs appeared to lose control after the collision, drifting away from the designated drop zone before disappearing from view. Emergency services were alerted to a medical emergency involving two injured skydivers, and Hubbs was later transferred to the Adams County Coroner’s Office. Officials stated that weather conditions did not contribute to the incident, and both jumpers were experienced, with Hubbs having completed over 800 jumps and Klein approximately 900. The investigation is ongoing.
