James Comer Requests Testimony from Todd Blanche in Epstein Investigation

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is coordinating with the Department of Justice to arrange an interview with Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche regarding the release of Epstein-related documents. Comer stated on Wednesday that he is in communication with the Justice Department while conducting a closed-door interview with Bill Gates concerning his connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Comer expressed his desire for Blanche to testify in July, noting that Blanche had previously appeared before the committee alongside Pam Bondi, who was questioned about the DOJ's slow release of Epstein files. Democrats have also sought to subpoena Blanche following Bondi's testimony. The oversight committee has conducted 15 interviews related to the investigation, including with notable figures such as former President Bill Clinton and Ghislaine Maxwell. The committee has released several batches of documents obtained through subpoenas to Epstein's estate.
