Nick Reiner Requests Trust Funds for Legal Fees in Parents' Murder Case

Nick Reiner, the son of filmmaker Ron Reiner, is seeking access to unpaid trust funds left to him by his parents to cover legal fees for his upcoming murder trial. He is accused of killing his parents, Ron Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, during an incident at their Los Angeles home in December 2025. A petition filed by his civil attorneys claims that he is entitled to funds from a family trust, as well as smaller individual trusts for himself and his siblings. Nick was expected to receive half of the trust funds upon turning 30 and the remainder at 35, but he reportedly did not receive the funds due at 30. His attorney alleges that the trustees are unjustly withholding these funds. The petition states, "Like anyone accused of a crime, Nick is presumed innocent, and he is entitled to mount his defense with the resources that are lawfully his own." Nick Reiner has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder.
