On Friday morning, five of the seven crew members aboard the International Space Station (ISS) briefly took refuge inside a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft as two Russian cosmonauts worked on addressing an air leak. NASA instructed US astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, French astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Russian cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev to enter the Crew Dragon spacecraft, named Freedom, at approximately 9 am EST (14:00 UTC). These astronauts had launched on the Crew-12 mission in February and are scheduled to return to Earth in September. Additionally, NASA astronaut Chris Williams, who arrived at the station via a Russian Soyuz spacecraft, joined the Crew-12 astronauts inside the Dragon.
