Donald Trump has made multiple posts on social media celebrating his rally attendance after reports indicated a decline in crowd sizes. The former president, who is 80 years old, shared at least seven posts and several videos on Truth Social, highlighting his ability to attract large numbers of supporters. This posting activity occurred shortly after he described his campaign events as 'legendary,' despite evidence of empty seats at some rallies.
He shared a video of a crowd in Texas chanting 'USA, USA!' and reposted content from his supporters, including claims that his political base remains enthusiastic. One post criticized those who have distanced themselves from Trump, asserting that they could not hinder his momentum. Another post claimed that without Trump, there would be no Republican Party.
Trump's social media activity followed scrutiny over his crowd sizes, with a Daily Beast/PunchUp analysis estimating that his October rally in Mobile, Alabama, attracted around 8,000 attendees, a significant decrease from approximately 30,000 in 2015. In Vandalia, Ohio, attendance dropped from around 10,000 during his first presidential campaign to about 4,000 this time.
Concerns about his crowd sizes were further highlighted by footage showing empty seats at his recent rally in San Antonio, Texas. Trump is actively campaigning to support Republican candidates ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, with upcoming appearances scheduled in Ohio and Alaska. The White House previously referred inquiries about his rally attendance to Trump's social media posts. RNC national press secretary Natalie Baldassarre stated that despite media efforts to downplay voter enthusiasm, Republican rallies are effective and the party is prepared for the upcoming elections.
