He also mentioned that the military wanted the execution to "serve as an example, and I understand that very well."</p><p>Vice President JD Vance expressed uncertainty about whether the execution would be livestreamed, stating, "If it's ultimately livestreamed, I'm not going to be watching it."</p><p>If carried out, Hasan's execution would be the first conducted by the U.S. military since 1961 and the first by firing squad since 1945.</p>
