“Today they gave out the Nobel Peace Prize to a person … I never heard of the person. Nobody did. It’s a mystery person,” he said.

Trump also discussed his own eligibility for the prize, claiming to have stopped eight wars during his presidency.

“Think of it. Any one of these eight wars, you get the Nobel Prize. I did eight. No president’s ever done any,” he stated.

He connected his candidacy for the award to ongoing conflicts, asserting he was “about to settle or win two more: Iran and Russia.”

Trump claimed he had “saved more lives than anyone in history” by preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, which he suggested would have catastrophic consequences.

He mentioned that the 2025 Nobel winner, Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, offered to share her award with him.

Pillay responded humorously, suggesting she might share the prize with Trump if her supporters applauded more.

Trump maintained that he had a stronger case for the Nobel Prize than Pillay, criticizing her as a “liberal person of the United Nations” who hadn’t stopped any wars.

He concluded by stating that the decision not to award him the Nobel Peace Prize was an “indelible stain on the country of Norway” and criticized the committee for their choice, labeling it as a disgraceful decision.

Trump’s pursuit of the Nobel Peace Prize has been a significant aspect of his foreign policy narrative during his second term, with his claims of resolving eight wars being frequently reiterated. He has received nominations from various leaders, including the prime minister of Pakistan.

The Nobel committee awarded Pillay the prize for her role in significantly enlarging the scope and impact of international law, which included a controversial ruling regarding Israel's actions in Gaza.
