In a political advertisement, she emphasized the importance of maintaining Republican control over the Senate seat rather than focusing on individual candidates.</p><p>Angela Paxton, who filed for divorce from Ken Paxton last year on "biblical grounds," stated in the ad, "People have asked my thoughts about this election, and turns out, I have some." She referred to the election dynamics, saying, "In a general election, it’s not as much about the individual players on the team; it’s about getting the whole team across the finish line."</p><p>She further expressed her support for the Republican ticket, stating, "That’s why I’m voting for the Republican ticket on Nov. 3. Let’s hold the line together." The advertisement does not mention Ken Paxton by name but comes as he faces a competitive election against Democrat James Talarico.</p><p>A recent Fox News Poll indicated that Talarico holds 51% support among likely Texas voters, while Ken Paxton has 49%, a margin within the poll's sampling error. The same poll showed that 50% of likely voters preferred Republican control of the U.S. Senate, compared to 49% for Democrats.</p><p>Angela Paxton has previously indicated that her priority is to maintain Republican control of the Senate seat. During a speech to the Texas Federation of Republican Women in September, she reiterated that the focus should be on the seat rather than individual candidates, stating, "it’s not the people, it’s the seat."</p><p>Angela Paxton filed for divorce from Ken Paxton in July 2025 after 38 years of marriage, alleging adultery and stating that their marriage had become insupportable due to discord. She announced the divorce on social media, emphasizing her belief in the sanctity of marriage and her pursuit of reconciliation.</p><p>The advertisement was funded by Texas PAC, a political action committee associated with Senate Majority Leader John Thune. Ken Paxton has received support from President Donald Trump and financial backing from Trump's MAGA Inc. political action committee, as well as Elon Musk’s America PAC.</p>
