Beni Rae Harmony, 24, has been appointed as the new assistant press secretary for President Donald Trump. Previously a reporter for Real America's Voice, Harmony gained attention for a photo in which she wore a 'F*** Joe Biden' T-shirt while posing with a rifle. The photo was shared by former Republican congressional candidate Jarome Bell in 2021 and was recently highlighted by anti-MAGA accounts on Instagram. Harmony's Instagram account liked the post, which was captioned, 'My campaign Public Affairs Director @beniraeharmony is a beast. This is how we roll.'
Harmony's appointment follows a staff shakeup that included the departure of former Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in August. In a statement announcing her hiring, Harmony expressed gratitude to President Trump and stated, 'It's been an honor to report, travel, and cover this historic administration as Senior White House Correspondent for Real America's Voice. My goal has always been to ask questions that matter to real Americans and make sure their voices are heard.'
Prior to her role at Real America's Voice, Harmony was suspended from her previous position at WICS-ABC20 in Springfield, Illinois, reportedly for sharing an on-air tribute to conservative influencer Charlie Kirk after his assassination in 2025. She defended her decision to air the tribute as 'non-partisan.' Harmony has also worked with Kirk's Turning Point USA organization and interned for Republican Congress members Paul Gosar and Matt Gaetz.
Anna Kelly, the White House principal deputy press secretary, confirmed Harmony's new role, stating, 'Beni Rae Harmony has been a trusted voice for the MAGA movement as a White House correspondent. She will be an outstanding addition to President Trump’s communications team as an assistant press secretary. We look forward to having her on board.'
