Progressive Representative Yassamin Ansari (D-Ariz) is in a relationship with YouTuber Jack Cocchiarella, who is 10 years younger than her. The two first met when Cocchiarella interviewed Ansari in spring 2025 and have been dating for several months, according to a report by TMZ.
Ansari declined to comment on her personal life, stating, "I’m not commenting on my personal life, nor is it anyone’s business. Right now, ICE is terrorizing communities across the country with zero accountability, and Trump’s reckless war in Iran continues raging on." She emphasized her focus on legislative goals, saying, "I’m focused on helping to flip the House so we can pass meaningful legislation — that’s what we should all be focused on." Cocchiarella also refrained from commenting on his personal life.
Yassamin Ansari, a first-term Democrat representing Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District, was born in Seattle to Iranian immigrant parents and grew up in Arizona. She attended Stanford University and interned in then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco district office in 2012, as reported by Roll Call. Ansari became the first Iranian American Democrat elected to Congress when she won her Arizona seat in 2024.
Ansari has faced scrutiny over her alleged ties to Iran, with an online petition in April garnering over 13,000 signatures calling for an investigation into supposed undisclosed foreign lobbying. The petition included a doctored image of Ansari and lacked evidence. Ansari described these claims as "hateful rhetoric, lies, cruel and deliberate misinformation," asserting that the suggestion of her ties to the Iranian regime is an "outright lie."
Jack Cocchiarella, originally from Winter Park, Florida, gained attention as a student activist at Dartmouth College for challenging conservative figures, including former Representative Madison Cawthorn. In 2022, he faced multiple sexual assault allegations at Dartmouth, which he denied. He later settled a lawsuit with a former classmate over online claims of sexual misconduct, according to the New Hampshire Journal. Cocchiarella transferred to Columbia University in 2022, where he earned a political science degree while working as a digital consultant for Democratic campaigns. He has since amassed over 1.6 million subscribers on YouTube and interviewed several prominent Democrats, including New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and California Governor Gavin Newsom.
